Workshop on Insurance in Clinical Research: Session II
The second session of the "Workshop on Insurance in Clinical Research" was held on February 6, 2024, at the TÜSEB Aziz Sancar Research Center in Ankara. Organized through the strategic cooperation of the Health Institutes of Türkiye (TÜSEB) - Türkiye Vaccine Institute and the Turkish Medicines and Medical Devices Agency (TİTCK), the workshop addressed critical regulatory and financial frameworks.
The workshop commenced with opening remarks by Prof. Ateş KARA, MD, Head of Türkiye Vaccine Institute (TAE), and Fatih TOPUZ, Head of the Medical Device Notified Body and Clinical Trials Department of TİTCK. The event drew participation and contributions from a wide range of institutional stakeholders, including the Ministry of Health General Directorate of Legal Services, TÜSEB - Türkiye Vaccine Institute, Turkish Medicines and Medical Devices Agency (TİTCK), and the Insurance and Private Pension Regulation and Supervision Agency (SEDDK).
Non-governmental organizations and industry associations were also represented, including the Association of Research-Based Pharmaceutical Companies (AİFD), the Clinical Research Association (KAD), the Association of Contract Research Organizations (SAKDER), and the Insurance Association of Türkiye (TSB).
The workshop session focused on reviewing the topics addressed in the previous meeting, alongside discussing stakeholders' proposals and solution-oriented approaches regarding relevant legislation and practical applications.
